NYC Guidebook Cover

Yesterday the publisher sent me the cover image for my Guide to Contemporary New York City Architecture, to be released by W. W. Norton next year. It's great to see the cover, something that makes my first book all the more real. And it pushes me to get my butt in gear!

The cover features one of my favorite buildings in NYC from the post-2000 period the book focuses on: the Austrian Cultural Forum by Raimund Abraham. The photographer is David Plakke.

  1. i like the twisted angle of the cover shot, juxtaposed with the text running in 2 directions - it kinda plays with your mind. congrats on the book!

  3. Very exciting cover design! It captures the dynamic energy of the city as well as having an architectural vibe to it.

  4. John-David - I helped work on it, but I did not design it, per se. That was the publisher. Probably best, as I'm busy with what's between the covers.
