However, the designer didn't really think much about the practical use of 2 of the blocks.

The pachinko Block shows water running down the face of it. Assuming that this will be used for a building and not a landscaping feature, you don't want water running down the face of your load bearing wall as it will seep in moisture through it into the bldg and also if it gets into the cement and then freezes it could chip away at your structure. You would have to add another wall behind it to create a rainscreen applied to another loadbearing wall, as you couldn't rely on the block for structural support. Of course, this defeats the whole purpose of the block.

The second block that isn't well thought out is the "bird nest" block. The whole reason why people add wire spokes on the sills of upper windows and exposed exterior beams is that they don't want birds landing on it and leave droppings behind. Now that wouldn't be very aesthetically pleasing.

Finally, mentioning FLLW's textiles is quite amusing because it proves that nothing is new under the sun.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6531343.post-12029979670166836062007-10-05T12:52:00.000-04:002007-10-05T12:52:00.000-04:00there was a nice cmu project in "Design Like You G...there was a nice cmu project in "Design Like You Give a Damn" if i recall correctly.
