Happy Oops Year!

A work-related field trip to the South Side of Chicago yesterday yielded a couple images that should teach architects to consider incoming and other water services VERY carefully. These pipes are like zits on a pretty face: they can be overlooked, but are distracting nevertheless.

  1. I agree that its unsightly. But the inverse is very difficult to accommodate. I recently completely 4 buildings for a new college campus - there were silly stiplations of "fixed specifications" the type of lightning protectors, pipes that had to be external, a whole bunch of ridiculous things - we tried to fight a few of them but in the end it still became comprimise...very few buildings I've seen with the architects' purity (zaha vitra station)
