ReplyDeleteComing from Belgium where there is still some very old beautiful architecture left, we moved to Canada 4 years ago. Everything is so new here and I don't know, it sometimes seems there is no story to tell in the brand new buildings, no personality. My husband and I really miss the historic buildings from Belgium. We lived in Leuven for 5 years and man... we were surrounded with architecture and culture. Don't get me wrong... I do like modern styles too and I enjoy looking at buildings but sometimes I don't understand why they put the new buildings up in an older part of a city and then slowly demolish all the older buildings around it. Don't they have a story to tell? But anyway I guess has to grow too and maybe within a few decades these modern blogs might be history. I would like to know in what kind of housing we will be living in the next years....
