Today's archidose #794

Here are some of my photos of Valentino New York Flagship (2014) by David Chipperfield Architects: "The Valentino New York Flagship Store is situated on Fifth Avenue in the former Takashimaya Department Store, designed by John Burgee and Philip Johnson, which opened in 1993."

  1. The interior looks 'cold' to me, but that is mostly the case in all luxurious brands' stores. The stairway has great details though. For such a high-end brand who sell shoes over $1,000, appearance means everything. It is what the customers see and what they feel like when they walk into the store than retain the brand's position in the industry. Valentino certainly cannot risk having any store looking any less chic and luxurious, especially for a flagship store like this one.
