I am really wondering why a social centre would look this brutal, like some form of prison architecture. I am wondering what the guiding design philosophy for this building, was.
ReplyDeleteI beg to differ. I think it looks cool and the windows leave plenty of light inside to be enjoyable. Maybe there are areas that don't need light such as a theater etc..Don't forget Portugal has hot weather so the people like shade and get away from it. I thought the sort of crevasse is clever for the stairs and the entry is really like targeting the purpose like a sift.
ReplyDeleteI believe the material is not the mot atractive for a public building.
ReplyDeleteit looks rather cold. But spacially its very interesting!

I agree with the comment about how it is a bit too cold for a social centre. It does remind me of a prison or correctional facility. Still some very cool angles! Especially the vortex-like entrance!
