Monday is when I would normally post a new book review, but instead, this blog and its related newsletter are going on hiatus indefinitely due to a family emergency.
John, I am sorry to hear about the emergency and wish you and your family well. Thank you for your generous dedicated writing and for sharing amazing knowledge on a weekly basis for so many years. I just found your blog and am delving into its treasures. The title and content of this post made me thinking. We need to ask more from architecture. to consider the architecture of care in contemporary cities, address how can architecture support complex social structures, life needs, bonds, ruptures, forms of affinity and longing, how can it enable/adapt to pauses in a life sequence. I hope you will find new spaces within.
